This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Rockford is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Rockford follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My fiance and I have been coming to sister's for almost 4 years now and have always had excellent service, food, no complaints. Today was a different experience and were disappointed. My fiance went in today and ordered us a sample platter that consists of two chicken skewers, two egg rolls, two crab ragoons, and two shrimp springrolls. It comes with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. The chicken skewers were good, and the cucumber salad was amazing . The egg rolls not so much. They were full of grease and tasted overdone. The shrimp spring rolls were the same. The crab ragoons which were always amazing, were a huge disappointment. They were way overdone and so hard that you had to pull away all the hard ends to just eat the middle of the cream cheese part. Im not sure what exactly happened here as we have never experienced this before and not with this establishment as this is our favorite go to spot. I will look forward to hopefully a different experience when we order next time.

Called ahead to confirm restaurant was open till 10 PM and the kitchen would not be closed. Let them know we would arrive around 9:30, got there at 9:36. The doors were locked. They could see us outside and didn’t bother to open. Food might be good, but we just drove 40 minutes last minute to come grab some food confirmed before heading out. A simple kitchen closes early would’ve saved us time and gas.

Sizzling. I’ve never had a bad experience at this restaurant. The staff is always friendly and prompt (Ronald is a fantastic server!) The food is flavorful, bold and many options are available for all palettes. I dine in and I do carry regularly. The garden is great in the summer. Highly recommend over and over. (Esp the crag rangarooniessss!)

Cool place and layout. Older building (duh downtown Rockford) with exposed brick charm. Loved the Pad Lad Na with chicken. Not chintzy on the chicken. Was a little soupy. Server a bit aloof at first blush but near closing time, may have been tired. Warmed up at the end. Would like to repeat with something more daring. This was my first attempt.

Very lovely decor inside! It’s quite a small restaurant so we had to patiently wait by the door for our table to be ready. We were seated at one of the half-booth/half chair tables. It took a while for our waitress to come, I think maybe she was new or something? I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken with white rice and my boyfriend ordered probably some kind of curry but I don’t remember which one. I was very surprised that mine came in a bowl basically as a soup! The teriyaki sauce was very thin and soup-like, not coating the chicken at all. It was still hot and tasty, just not what I had expected from the menu description. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal as well, but the waitress was very slow to refill his water glass. It’s a very cute place but I’m not particularly interested in coming back anytime soon.
